People are facing tight budgets and are now being forced to make sacrifices when it comes to the little things in their lives they normally would not have thought twice about purchasing but now may have to cut back on. Due to the recession in the economy and rising gas costs and food prices at the grocery store, people are looking for any way to cut costs, and as a results, everything that is overpriced off of wholesale value is being forced into sales in order to draw back customers.
For example, a common pair of designer sunglasses can cost anywhere in the $80 to S380 range, and those are just the reasonable pairs of designer sunglasses, but due to the flailing economy, people are even questioning rather they can afford $5-$25 range. Therefore sellers who are usually able to mark up their discount sunglasses by a fifty percent resell value, are now placing their products on sale in order to make any of their money back on the wholesale purchases. Retailers are doing well selling discount sunglasses because people are attracted to the low prices of these types of shades.
Of course, making a twenty to thirty percent profit is still a sizeable profit, it is hurting many discount sunglass sellers as people do not purchase sunglasses on a regular basis, only when they lose or damage their old pairs. Thus whole sellers depend on the higher mark-up prices to make an income they can afford to live off of, by losing ten to twenty percent of their profit on items they are use to being to make a living off of, they need to sell almost double as much and that’s hard to do with an item that does not take priority on most people’s lists. Making less profit is better than not selling at all. Most vendors would rather be selling the merchandise than sitting on it.
Vendors hope that lower prices and sale signs will lure customers in who would otherwise pass by convincing them they should buy now and take advantage of the sale as they may not be able to afford a sale item later if they need it. It is actually a rather clever sales trick, but one that takes a lot more work and convincing on the vendor’s part, since so long as the economy stays down, chances are likely so will the prices no matter what the vendor tells you.
Now is a great time to startup a business selling discount sunglasses for many reasons. In tight economic times these sunglasses sell very quickly because of the price. Sunglasses are something people always need. Many people figure paying high prices for a pair of shades they will either loose or break does not make a lot of since. Many times these customers will shop convince stores or online shops buying low priced ones. Many customers are wise to buying wholesale for importers to get an even better value for their money.
